RECAP

TeAAM Members!

What a great Race Camp!  Despite pre-camp concerns about snow, we had plenty of perfect training conditions, a record number of participants and newcomers, great instruction, fun-fun-fun social events, and the joy of seeing our snow family, all resulting in a very memorable event!  I'll let the rest of the team's leadership give their reports.  See you in Tahoe!

President, 2025/26

From your VP,

Large turnout and high spirits mark another hugely successful Steamboat Training Camp!

This year’s event boasted a record 26 newcomers and a capacity crowd at the Team Dinner!

Our total membership has more than doubled since 2021!

I appreciate everyone’s help in spreading the good news of our group.

A persistent challenge has been reaching non-aircrew, such as ramp, ops, and other AA staff around the system. New ideas and methods of communication are always welcome!!

Happy Holidays, and I’ll ski all y’all at Tahoe!

Eric

Thoughts on Steamboat Camp and the Season Ahead:

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share how fantastic this year's training camp at Steamboat was. Accessing Tomahawk on the upper mountain for three solid days (Monday through Wednesday) gave us some of the best snow conditions we've seen in years – perfect for dialing in our technique. The race coaches were outstanding as always, and it was awesome to train alongside so many familiar faces, plus a great group of enthusiastic newcomers. The energy on the mountain was electric with AA making their presence known!

Thursday's low-key inter-team GS was a fun way to wrap up the on-snow portion, and the off-hill events really brought the whole club together. Returning to the ever-popular Olympic Hall in town for our team dinner was a memorable treat – it's becoming a team tradition for good reason and everybody left with a raffle prize. Wednesday's karaoke night at the Icehouse was a huge hit (and a blast!). Special thanks to Nathan for setting up the event and making those tree ornaments!

Coming off this camp, I'm motivated for the upcoming season… hoping y’all are too! We're looking sharp heading into our first meet at Palisades in January, and I know we'll give Delta and the rest of the field a run for their money. Let's carry this momentum forward – it's going to be an exciting year!

See you on the snow in Palisade,

John Eidmann

From Your B Team Captain:

Hi AA Racers and AA Racer wannabes!

The winter wonderland we experienced was such a surprise! The blessing of cold temperatures (for making snow) and a few storms the week before made it absolutely spectacular for training. Moving the training up to Timberline was also such a treat. The instruction was top-notch, and there was plenty of mountain to practice our skills on. I was impressed by how many new people showed up, including beginners who were ecstatic with their progress over the course of the three days of training. Just hoping to see these people continue coming and participating in the races once they begin next month at Palisades. I like to emphasize that racing with us never takes points away from our team; it can only add to it!

As co-captain with Cher Dawson, I look forward to more new friends on the racecourse this winter. Feel free to reach out with any questions you might have. If I don’t have the answer, I know someone who will! Just come on out and have fun.

From your Snowboard Captain:

SNOWBOARDERS

For a last-minute snow trip, Steamboat did not disappoint!

Our American Airlines Snowboard Team had an incredible few days at training camp, with great conditions thanks to fresh snow just days before we arrived. It was awesome to see so many new and familiar faces shredding the mountain together. Watching everyone build confidence, sharpen their skills, and push themselves year after year is always a pleasure.

Way to go, Team Snowboard!

Now let’s take those newly sharpened skills and dominate the race course at our upcoming events. I expect to see all of you there!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Love, Hollie
